What is IECnet, a group of international tax experts?

IECnet is a global network of independent professional firms of accountants, auditors and tax consultants.

Each member firm is a separate legal entity, qualified and operating under the laws and regulations of its own country.

Since its formation in 1987, IECnet has been promoting activities for its members in key areas to draw upon expertise and to share a common high-level professional approach to client service.

With selected member firms located in 70 countries on all continents, over 2000 staff and 400 partners, IECnet supports global business of our clients, in 30 languages.

We, the only IECNet member in Japan, always exchange information with other accounting firms in the world. This network of mutual support enables us to provide advice and assistance to our clients, under both inside and outside their own domestic jurisdiction.

IECnet does not provide services itself but its members support clients who wish to operate business outside of its county. Clients have the advantages of being advised to a very high standard and guided by proven experts in all their international as well as local business requirements.

IECnet with a turnover of 205.5 million USD was ranked 26 in the International Accounting Bulletin 2023 World Survey.

From June 26 to 28, 2025, Sakashita International Tax Accountant Co. had the honor of hosting the IECnet APAC Meeting 2025 at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel.
The event welcomed 13 IECnet members from 9 countries, not only from the Asia-Pacific region but also EU countries and USA, along with 8 accompanying persons.

The meeting included presentations by Hiroko Sakashita on “Japan’s Business Environment” and “Trade Practices and Taxation,” a lecture by a Tokyo-based member of IBLC, a partner network of IECnet, and discussions on IECnet’s growth strategy.

In addition to the formal sessions, various cultural and networking activities were held to strengthen ties among participants—a dinner cruise on a traditional Japanese houseboat (Yakatabune) and a cultural experience in Asakusa, including visits to historic sites.

This meeting greatly contributed to reinforcing mutual trust and collaboration among IECnet members.

At the IECnet AGM 2023 in London, over 100 people from 35 countries and 42 member firms met.
It was a meaningful experience that allowed me to experience first-hand the trends in Audit and Tax worldwide.
Ms. Sakashita, a member of the Tax team, gave a lecture on Transfer Prices at the Tax session.

It was a perfect mix of conference, sightseeing and party.
By talking discussing with other members, we could understand each other and build better relationships.
